Ohio Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreements

In addition to our collective bargaining services, OSBA offers a wide range of training programs on different aspects of bargaining. Our lectures deal with the basics of negotiation, advanced strategies, the theory and practice of deadlock, strike preparation and contract management. We are also trained in team building techniques and the creation of work management committees. Ohio`s public schools have a long and sometimes laborious history of collective bargaining. In the entire country, Ohio is one of the few states that allows public education employees to participate in strikes, making it a unique level. Interestingly, Ohio is also unique in its progressive approach to collective bargaining. It was one of the first states to introduce alternative negotiations, and over the years this method has become common in our districts. The first step in exercising due diligence is to choose who will represent the district at the bargaining table. This is why OSBA is committed to tailor-made services for member districts in the field of labour relations. Ohio`s public schools are unique and have needs that a general law firm or counselor may not understand. Our activity is the school management and the management services department was created exclusively to develop and support schools at the lowest possible price and with the highest quality. OSBA`s collective bargaining services are tailored to each school district and can range from a simple contract analysis to the development of contract proposals and serve as the district`s spokesperson at the bargaining table.

OSBA negotiators are familiar with any type of negotiation model and can help you choose a method that best suits the culture of your district. Unfortunately, not all rounds of negotiations result in a quick or simple agreement, so the OSBA also offers advice in the event of an impasse and, if necessary, strike assistance. For public school districts, collective bargaining is an important and very serious process. The results can have a profound and long-term impact on the administrative and educational structures around a school. In addition, the way negotiations take place can influence the climate and culture within a school. Negotiations must therefore be carefully conducted by all parties. Our services are not limited to work negotiation. With our expertise and experience, we can also serve as an important resource for the district in other personnel areas such as social benefits, retirement incentives, wage structures, downsizing, complaints, and unfair labor practices. . . .
