Derivative plagiarism was introduced in English around 1620.  The Latin Plagiius, « kidnapper, » and Plagium, « Kidnapping, » have the plaga root (« snare, » « net »), based on the Indo-European root –plak, « to weave » (seen for example in Greek Plekein, Bulgarian « pleta, » and Latin plectere, all meanings). Given the serious consequences of plagiarism for students, there was a demand to place greater emphasis on learning to help students avoid plagiarism.    This is particularly important when students move to a new institution that has a different view of the concept from the vision previously developed by the student.  Given the seriousness of accusations of plagiarism for a student`s future, plagiarism education may need to be considered before the pedagogy of the discipline studied.  The need for plagiarism education extends to university staff who may not fully understand what is expected of their students or what the consequences of misconduct are.    Throughout the history of literature and the arts in general, works of art are largely repetitions of tradition; throughout the history of artistic creativity include plagiarism, literary theft, appropriation, initiation, narrative, recapitulation, revision, revision, thematic variation, ironic repetition, parody, imitation, stylistic flight, pastiches, collages and assemblages consciously.       There is no rigorous and precise distinction between practices such as counterfeiting, plagiarism, copying, replying and counterfeiting.     These appropriation procedures are the main axis of a cultured culture, in which the tradition of the canonical past is constantly rewritten.  In science, plagiarism of students, professors or researchers is considered academic dishonesty or academic fraud, and offenders are exposed to academic distrust, including expulsion. Some institutions use plagiarism detection software to detect potential plagiarism and prevent students from plagiarizing. However, plagiarism detection software does not always yield accurate results and there are flaws in these systems.
 Some universities address the issue of academic integrity by providing students with in-depth guidance, writing courses and clearly articulated honour codes.  In fact, university students have a near-uniform understanding that plagiarism is false.  Yet every year, students are brought before the disciplinary boards of their institutions for abusing sources in their school work.  The practice of plagiarism by using sufficient word substitutions to evade the detection software known as Rogeting has evolved rapidly, with unethical students and academics always seeking to get ahead of detection software.  However, the reuse of a previous work or part of it without the teacher is also placed under plagiarism.
